1.1 Purpose

To maintain MTM data accuracy by identifying and correcting wrong or broken MTM mappings, and ensuring the correct MTM is properly updated and linked in the backend systems

1.13 Steps of Procedure

Step 1 — Download MTM Mapper File from CDMS

• Log in to the CDMS platform.
• Navigate to the MTM Mapper section.
• Download the Linked MTM Mapper file in Excel format for further processing.

Step 2 — Validate and Correct MTMs Using Exception File

• Open the exception file received from Lenovo via email.
• Go to the MTM sheet in the exception file.
• For each MTM entry:
• Check if the MTM length is greater than 10 characters.
• If yes, try to map it using the Input MTM Master file available in the CDMS platform.
• If the MTM is not found in the master file:
  • Search for the MTM in PCSD.
  • If still not found, try these approaches:
  • Check the first 10 digits of the MTM.
  • Split the MTM using “-” and retry the search with the primary segment.
• If a matching MTM is found in PCSD, record it as the Correct MTM.
• Update the MTM Mapper file:
• In the Wrong MTM column, paste the MTM from the exception file.
• In the Correct MTM column, paste the MTM identified from the PCSD search.

Step 3 — Save and Upload Updated File

• Save the updated MTM Mapper Excel file.
• Upload the corrected MTM Mapper file back into the CDMS platform.

Step 4 — Output Pivot

• Correct MTM
